The Beginning of the End

My husband and I have thought about this decision for a long time now. We have been together for over eight years and married almost one year so it is pretty much the naturally progression. I have read the books, talked with people that have ones, and done as much research as I can on the subject. We finally decided that we are ready for this big step in our lives.

So we have been waiting for what seems like forever for the arrival of our new bundle of joy. I have seen the ultrasound pictures and started to purchase items to be ready for when it comes home. I have been going through the house to make sure it is as safe as possible for the little one. I know you can never be fully prepared for the change we are about to go through but we feel as ready as we ever are going to be. I know it is going to change our dynamic since we have a pretty easy life right now. We watch TV, movies, and play video games so in the beginning we are really going to have to adjust to all the new responsibilities that we will have. I mean we are going to have another life to look after. I am sure once that fuzzy four-legged thing comes home we will be so happy. What, did you think I was talking about having a baby? Please, it took me a year to come to terms with getting a puppy and how much that is going to change our lives. I'm not ready for anything else!

Its pretty interesting how much work goes into getting ready for a puppy or it could just be how obsessive I am but more on that later. The puppies were born on St. Patrick's day, 3 boys and 1 girl. I want a girl and Joe wants a boy. The breeder is keeping one so we are pretty much just waiting till they decide which dog they want before we can figure out which one is ours. It is definitely the beginning of a new life for us filled with responsibilities and the end of our old carefree easy life. I'm going to document the ups and downs, the joys and the frustrations of our life with a Shiba Inu running it.
